Rodeo Houston 2010

Ben took the last day of Spring Break off which happened to be his birthday and we took the kids to the Livestock show/rodeo. We didn't get to do as much as we'd planned due to a meltdown on Winston's part and us forgetting a stroller in which he could catch a few zzzzz's. But we had fun. The boys have been doing jobs around the house for a few weeks to earn money to spend on rides. They each had $5 to spend. We ate lunch, bought a few tickets for some rides and games, saw the John Deer tractor display, and the birthing center (calf less than 24 hrs old, chicks hatching, lambs and piglets about 2 days old), a real Texas Longhorn and Winston discovered cotton candy. It would have been more fun if Ben hadn't gotten a splitting headache and Winston had been happier. He was of course ticked that he wasn't big enough to ride the rides his brothers did. He screamed bloody murder which drew many stares from passersby.

  1. Happy late Birthday, Ben! I love the bike idea, so thoughtful and creative, Whit. Your day at the rodeo sounds familiar. Glad to know I am not the only one out there that gets lots of stares when my son decides to start screaming. I would have loved the baby animals!!!!!!
